The balance has four notched weighing beams graduated 0–200 g x 100 g, 0–100 g x 10 g, 0–10 g x 1 g and 0–1 g x 10 mg, each with a centre-reading non-removable sliding mass. It has covered agate bearings, precision-ground pivots and a stainless-steel pan of 9 cm diameter with a bow. Capacity 311 g, sensitivity 0.01 mg (10 mg per division on the finest beam). Other features include zero adjustment, magnetically damped beam movement and under-pan weighing for specific-gravity tests.
