8085 Microprocessor Educational Lab.
The 8085 Microprocessor Educational Lab Trainer can interface with an IBM PC/XT/AT computer via a 96-bit TTL I/O experimental interface and editor-assembler software. Built around the industry-standard Intel 8085, it is an efficient system for training and prototype development of microprocessor-based systems, and its hardware can also support multi-processor configurations. The unit is self-contained and requires no other apparatus, and carries great educational value for science and engineering students. It teaches microprocessor programming and interfacing through practical work — designing student projects, familiarising students with components, studying the signals generated by the microprocessor, machine-language programming, designing application-oriented equipment, debugging techniques and input/output experiments.

· CPU: 8085 microprocessor @ 6.144 MHz
· Memory: 48 KB on board, comprising 16 KB monitor EPROM and 32 KB RAM, with battery backup for RAM and no expansion required
· Peripherals: 8279 for controlling 24 keys (including a 6-digit seven-segment display); a timer/counter with three independently programmable counters; two 8255s controlling 48 I/O lines brought out to a 50-pin FRC connector; 8251 for RS-232C serial communication with up/down firmware for PC; built-in cassette interface, speaker interface and EPROM programmer for the 27128 at 12.5 V
· Interfacing: all buffered and demultiplexed TTL-compatible signals brought out on 50-pin FRC connectors, including address, data and control lines, for connecting experimental interface modules (ADC, DAC, stepper motor, 8-bit switch input, 8-bit LED output, relay interface module and more)
A wide set of example programs is detailed in the supplied manual — integer division (8-bit and 16-bit), block data transfer, parity checking, ascending/descending sorting, 8-bit multiplication, Fibonacci generation, rolling message display, insertion into a sorted array, finding smallest/largest in an array, Hex/decimal addition, Hex counter, binary-to-decimal and Hex-to-BCD conversion, 16-bit subtraction, keyboard read and display, HCF and LCM. The monitor in the 32 KB EPROM assists the user in entering, editing and running assembly-language programs, with SET ADDR, EXAM/REG, GO, EXEC and STEP key functions.
It operates on 230 V, 50 Hz AC mains, weighs approximately 5 kg, uses a 5 V @ 1 A and ±12 V @ 500 mA supply, and is assembled in a well-designed cabinet. Accessories: two 50-pin FRC cables and one software CD.
