Description and Specification for Lab Tenders
Bursting Strength Tester (Analog Type)Bursting Strength Tester (Analog Type).
The bursting strength of a material such as fabric, leather or paper is its strength under multi-directional force, defined as the hydrostatic pressure required to rupture the material when pressure is applied at a controlled increasing rate through a rubber diaphragm. The Analog Bursting Strength Tester determines the bursting strength of fabric, leather, paper and paperboard. A test sample is held between two annular clamps under sufficient tension to minimise slippage; the upper clamping surface has a continuous spiral groove and the lower has multiple concentric grooves. A circular diaphragm of pure gum rubber is clamped between the lower clamping plate and a pressure chamber, so that before the diaphragm is stretched by pressure below it, the centre of its upper surface is below the plane of the clamping surface.
