The inner chamber, steam jacket, outer chamber and evaporator are made of heavy-gauge stainless steel with watertight argon-arc welding. The radial-locking lid is made of thick stainless-steel plate. All units are hydraulically tested up to 40 psi. The steam evaporator is fitted with a water-level indicator, pressure gauge, low-water cut-off device and automatic pressure-control device. They have a dial thermometer to show internal temperature and a vacuum breaker in case a vacuum forms due to steam condensation. The space between the outer chamber and the steam jacket is filled with asbestos sheet or glass wool to minimise heat losses. Two separate valves are provided for releasing steam from the inner chamber and the jacket as required. Also available in various standard and custom sizes.
