Drag Co-Efficient Apparatus.

Designed to meet varied customer requirements, the Drag Coefficient Apparatus determines the relationship between the drag coefficient of falling particles and their Reynolds number. For detailed study, it is fitted with several vertical glass tubes, each marked with two lines on the walls so that single particles can be dropped and easily observed. A valve arrangement at the base allows particles to be removed easily with minimal loss of fluid.

Scope of experiments:
· To study the motion of a solid particle through a fluid
· To plot drag coefficient versus Reynolds number
· To measure the drag coefficient

Utilities required:
· Liquids of various viscosities
· Electricity supply: 100 W, 220 V, single phase
· Floor area: 0.75 m x 1.5 m

· Supplied with steel and glass balls of various sizes
· The complete set-up is well designed and arranged in a good-quality painted structure with tube-light illumination
· Electronic stopwatch
· Material: borosilicate glass tubes (3 nos.)
