It comprises an imported half-shade Nicol polariser and analyser, a 100 mm diameter circular scale divided in degrees 0–360° x 1°, and a sugar scale divided -30° to +130° x 1° ISS. A separate micrometer drum is provided to read 0.05° (3 minutes) and 0.1° ISS. The scale is properly illuminated for taking readings. The body is very sturdy, and a separate sodium-lamp stand is provided. Complete with a polarimeter tube with a bubble trap at the middle, 200 mm. Also available in a 400 mm model.
