This instrument is used for slab-gel electrophoresis, thin-layer chromatography, forensic examination and DNA investigation/experimentation. Transilluminators provide ultraviolet light from beneath the sample. They can be used in conjunction with a UV viewing cabinet to give greater intensity of light.

Transilluminators 360 nm:

The outer case is made of thick steel and covered with a thick layer of epoxy-based polyester paint, which gives a strong, highly scratch- and chemical-resistant surface. This system has a window covered with a fixed UV-transparent sheet; six 360 nm UV sources are fixed beneath the window. An exhaust fan is fitted for cooling. The hinged eye-protective UV-barrier cover supplied with this instrument is designed to cover the whole window.

Transilluminators 312 nm:
