Vacuum ovens are ideal heat-treatment equipment where a mass must be heated under vacuum. They are double-walled cylindrical/rectangular units, with the outer made of mild-steel sheet, suitably enamel-painted, and the inner made of heavy-gauge stainless-steel sheet. They are provided with a vacuum gauge, a see-through window of toughened glass and one shelf. Available in various standard and custom sizes and capacities from 25 litres to 200 litres. The gap between the two walls is suitably filled with high-grade glass wool to avoid heat loss. The temperature range from 50°C to 150°C is controlled by a hydraulic thermostat or electronic controller with an accuracy of ±1°C, and the unit is also capable of withstanding a high vacuum.
