Electrically operated, it produces pyrogen-free distilled water. The main body is made of stainless-steel sheet, and a triple-vapour baffle of stainless steel is fitted. The lid seals automatically as water collects in a groove in its head, minimising loss of steam. The still is fitted with immersion-type heating elements designed to disconnect if the still runs dry; however, to ensure long service, care should be taken to avoid running it dry, as the protective design cannot be expected to last beyond three operations. If the heating elements burn out they can be easily replaced. The stated output is approximate, as it will vary with the mains voltage. The still is supplied with wall brackets.
