It gives accurate measurement that improves the tolerance range in weld checking, and provides knowledge of fillet welding, where the parts join at the correct angle to each other; if the fillet (throat) is in focus, the required measurement is generated from the root — the root running from the joint to the junction between the exposed base-metal surface and the weld — and the measurement can stay consistent across samples. It counts phases, joint penetration and the heat-affected zone (HAZ). A magnifier tool is provided for clearer, accurate measurement, and a zoom tool lets a sample be enlarged while still being viewed. The system analyses the characteristics of the welded part in clear, distinct colours to assist the task.
