This machine is used to mount the specimen in Bakelite powder and to hold it properly during polishing. The unit is of rugged construction and is operated by a hydraulic press with a pressure gauge to read the pressure applied during mounting. The press is supplied complete with a mould heater and thermostat, with a 25 mm dia mould assembly.
