Description and Specification for Lab Tenders
Theorems Concepts Instruments.
This range of theorem-teaching instruments helps demonstrate key geometric theorems:
· Pythagoras theorem — verifies that in a right-angled triangle the square on the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares on the other two sides. Supplied with one 3" x 4" plastic right-angle triangle and a set of 3 squares matching the sides of the triangle, gridded in square inches.
· Senior Pythagoras theorem (magnetic) — in acrylic, with 4 right-angle triangles and 1 large square; overall size 16" x 16" with a strong magnet on the back for display.
· Pythagoras theorem by reverse method — made of foam with a magnet on the back for display.
· Direct combination of vectors.
· Conic section — a set with a 4-section model of a cone showing circle, hyperbola, ellipse and parabola.
· Pythagoras theorem by small squares — understand the theorem through a play-and-learn approach by arranging unit squares to form the side squares.
· Ring of theorems — used to understand the properties of a circle, opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral, the angle in a semicircle being a right angle, and angles in the same segment being equal; supplied with rubber bands and a reusable storage box.
· Working model of Pythagoras theorem — demonstrates proof by volume, showing the whole class that the sum of the volumes on sides A and B equals the volume on the third side.
