The equipment has a cast top with spaces for heating 40 digestion tubes of 75 ml each. The heating elements are arranged uniformly so that the whole cast top, and therefore the tubes, reach the same temperature throughout. The gap between the elements and the outer painted mild-steel wall is filled with high-grade mineral wool to avoid heat loss. Temperature is controlled by energy regulators. Operates on 220/230 V AC supply.
